From the Principal
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to make Term 1 run as smoothly as possible, including our current teaching staff who picked up additional roles and responsibilities to ensure that classes were well supported and student learning continued, regardless of staff absences/shortages. I am pleased to announce that from next term we will have our full complement of teachers at Dimbulah State School.
Staffing changes next term:
- We welcome Miss Emme Wild back to Dimbulah State School in her role as fulltime HPE teacher and sport co-ordinator
- Mrs Balzarolo will be taking leave for six months. Mrs Setford will be replacing Mrs Balzarolo
Mid semester reports for students in Year 6 to 10 were emailed yesterday. This is a progress report and is based upon work completed in the first nine weeks of the term. If you have any queries or concerns or would like to speak with your child/s teacher/s, please contact the office at the beginning of next term or email admin@dimbulahss.eq.edu.au and an appointment will be arranged.
Wishing everyone a safe and happy Easter break and looking forward to seeing students return to school on Tuesday 22nd April.
Regards
Tuki Brown

Thanks for inviting Indigenous Health from Mareeba Community Health out to Dimbulah school to deliver closing the gap day to the indigenous students.
We had 10 students attend the closing the gap day. We covered the 4 main areas, Education, Health, Employment and Housing.
As we are working in health, the main focus was on life expectancy, and how important education is to be able to enjoy a good well balanced happy lifestyle, to be able to gain good, well-paid jobs, to eat healthy and have good affordable housing to reduce overcrowding.
We went around the room and gave each student the opportunity to speak about their future jobs when they leave school, and everyone contributed towards having a say.
When we finished the program. We gave the students arm bands with messages on them about being successful in their achievements. The students were well mannered and were very respectful.
Thanks
Rhonda
On Tuesday, 1st of April the P-2 students were lucky to attend a special event held at the Dimbulah town library. "Roaming Wild" gave an informative talk about some of the native animals that live in our part of the world. The presentation was interactive with the students having the opportunity to both see and touch some live specimens. The students had a fantastic time and learnt lots of new information. A very big thank-you goes to "Roaming Wild" and to our town library and school staff for organising the event.
