Classroom Spotlight
Taking care of our teeth
Our amazing dental team went into classes over the last two weeks to encourage and educate students to look after their gums and teeth. We learnt the various ways we can look after our teeth, eating healthy and limit sugary foods and drinks. Brush our teeth morning and night, use floss and have regular dental check-ups. Fun experiments were done to show us how using toothpaste helps our teeth and a visual display of why we should floss our teeth. The dental van will still be at Dimbulah State School at the beginning of term 4. Book now for your child’s dental check-up, call 1300 300 850 to book.
We recently held our annual R U OK Day event with students being inspired and empowered to connect with the people around them and start a conversation with people in their life who may be having a hard time and encouraging them to seek support. Students enjoyed making chatter boxes, delicious cupcakes and fun music. We were also joined by our School Based Police Officer Matt and Indigenous Health Workers Rhonda and Lilly.
Remember you don’t need to be an expert to reach out – just a good friend and great listener.
